Chelsea Livery Adaptive Reuse

Livery Facade

Facing the Victorian train depot are three abandoned historical buildings that the City of Chelsea is trying to put into use. Known as the Longworth buildings, these brick structures were built around 1900 and have been used as everything from stables to stove and light bulb manufacturing facilities to an automobile showroom. They have been unoccupied since 2002. We have worked with the Chelsea DDA on several proposals for the refurbishment of the structures, including developing them into apartments, a small animal zoo, and a mixed-use commercial complex. The images shown are of the most recent proposed design, which includes rooftop dining over the front showroom.
